Marina Abramović

Marina Abramović is a pioneering performance artist who transformed the medium into a central form of contemporary art. Active since the early 1970s, her groundbreaking works—from the Rhythm series to the 700-hour performance The Artist Is Present at MoMA—have redefined endurance, presence and the role of the audience.

One of the duties of the artist is to offer some kind of guidance. It’s not about solving the world’s problems or asking all the questions—but at the very least, we can show some paths that might work.
