CURATORIAL STATEMENT
The project is built around research on space and experience. In Jessica Baldivieso’s work abstract linear space is merged with a vibrant body of flamboyant colours that evokes a memory of West Coast minimalism. Though her work is primarily non-figurative and doesn’t tell a particular story, it creates an occasion for an immersive experience that is to be lived together with the body of a viewer. With this Baldivieso critically revisits Le Corbusier’s Modular system by bringing the contribution of women's experience and an ex-centric point of view.
